Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a strong, Payroll Specialist who can leverage their current skill set and be open minded and willing to learn fast and create value on day one.  The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for assisting the Controller on all day to day payroll tasks. 

The Role & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure payroll is processed through Corporate, biweekly, in an accurate, compliant, and timely manner for 200+ employees
  • Support Company and departmental policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal controls
  • Understand the payroll implications of benefits, garnishments, W4 set-ups, etc.
  • Support the payroll processing for new hires, leaves, and terms
  • Good working knowledge on vacation accruals, sick accruals, overtime calculations, etc.
  • Support special one off projects for Payroll and HR like rollout of new software platforms, employee engagement initiatives, etc.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance a plus
  • 1+ years payroll experience 
  • Working knowledge of ADP, Ceridian or similar payroll software
  • Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills
  • Highly detail oriented and organized
  • Track record of meeting deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Interfaces with all levels of management
  • Working knowledge of Windows software programs (i.e., Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
